Knightsbridge MODEMKIT2 Modular Emergency Conversion Kit

The Knightsbridge MODEMKIT2 emergency conversion kit adds emergency-lighting functionality to compatible Knightsbridge modular LED luminaires. Its plug-in design allows suitable battens and non-corrosive fittings to be converted without replacing the complete luminaire.

The kit includes a rechargeable lithium iron phosphate LiFePO4 battery capable of providing up to three hours of emergency operation. A built-in selector allows the unit to be configured for either conventional manual testing or automatic self-test operation.

Manual or Self-Test Emergency Operation

The dual-mode system allows the installer to choose between two emergency testing arrangements:

• Manual emergency mode: emergency tests are initiated and recorded as part of the building’s planned maintenance programme
• Self-test emergency mode: the emergency module automatically performs scheduled functional and duration tests

The required mode is selected using a switch on the module, allowing the same kit to suit different emergency-lighting management systems.

Maintained and Non-Maintained Configurations

The MODEMKIT2 supports maintained, non-maintained and switched emergency operation when installed in a compatible luminaire:

• Maintained: the luminaire operates normally and continues at its emergency output following a mains failure
• Non-maintained: emergency illumination activates only when the mains supply fails
• Switched maintained: normal illumination can be switched while the emergency circuit remains permanently supplied

Three-Hour LiFePO4 Battery

The integrated LiFePO4 battery provides up to three hours of emergency operation following a mains power failure. The battery is covered by the product’s five-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Actual emergency light output will depend on the compatible luminaire in which the module is installed.
